The company's roots can be traced back to the beginnings of some operations more than 40 years ago. In the fall of 1997, talks of consolidation began, and in January of 1998 a corporate office was opened in Clearwater, Florida. In June, an IPO was completed, and the company became listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol HZO. Since then, the company has more than quadrupled in size, through both organic growth and acquisition. Today, MarineMax is the nation's largest recreational boating and yachting retailer, currently with more than 50 locations.
MarineMax is also the only boat dealership group that offers you a north-south connection. The "MarineMax Connection" program allows you to enjoy your winter boating down in the Gulf region in one of our coastal states, and have your boat shipped up north for the summer. We take care of all the details! When everything is said and done, MarineMax stacks up to be the best value in the recreational boat business today.
