Golfing the Grand Lake Area
The Grand Lake region boasts six courses that are open to the public and one private club. And while the weather in northeastern Oklahoma is fairly moderate, the season to golf is as long as some of the fairways. Golfers play all twelve months at Grand Lake.
Cherokee Grove Golf Club
With doglegs, uphill, downhill and side hill trees, this 9-hole course will challenge even the seasoned golfer. New greens should be in great shape. This course is located on the arm of Carey Bay in Grove and is open daily during the season. Moderate green fees, carts, pro shop, snack bar, driving range and putting green will have you visiting this course on a regular basis.
Grand Cherokee Golf Course
Set against the backdrop of the Pensacola Dam, this challenging 9- hole course places an emphasis on accuracy with bent grass greens and well-placed bunkers. Tree-lined fairways and Bermuda grass tees with 3133 total yards, make this par 36 course fun as well as challenging. This is an Oklahoma State Park course and offers a pro shop, seasonal grill with patio and inside seating. Just east of Langley to River Road, then one mile south below the Pensacola Dam.
Patricia Island Golf Club
Play on a Tripp Davis custom-designed 18-hole championship course. This course was designed to allow all levels of golfers to enjoy the game. With bent grass greens and beautiful views of Grand Lake from almost half of the holes, you will find this golf club to be an experience not easily forgotten. Pro shop with pro on
staff, first rate practice facility that includes a driving range, a chipping green with two
sand traps, a large putting green and weather protected hitting area for lessons in inclement weather. Located in Grove on Patricia Island.
Peoria Ridge Golf Course
Located just 2 ½ miles east of Miami on Highway 10, this 18-hole course features lightening fast greens with rolling hills and large ponds. With bent-grass greens and Bermuda fairways designed by Bland Pittman, this par
72 course will present a real challenge on the championship back tees consisting of 6,900 yards. A pro shop with pro on staff, driving range, putting and chipping greens as well as a snack bar round out course amenities. Host to the annual NGA Hooters Pro Golf Tour, you’ll want to give this course a try.
Shangri-La Resort Country Club

Miami Golf & Country Club
Designed after the Tournament Players Championship courses with the back nine designed by Don Sechrest, this 18-hole club offers undulating bent grass greens and a tree lined fairway. Pro shop, practice driving range, lighted putting green, tennis courts and junior Olympic size pool. The club house includes a bar, lounge, dining room and locker rooms. New ownership as of fall 2007.
The Coves Golf Club
This private 18-hole course is part of the lakeside golf community called “The Coves at Bird Island.” Situated in the Duck Creek area of Grand Lake, the course is exceptional in every detail with multi-level greens, gently sloping fairways, pro shop with certified staff and a 16- acre golf practice facility that is one of the finest in the state.
